Nothing beats a bowl of creamy fresh guacamole, but there are even more ways to use this buttery fruit … like as a skin treatment! Since avocado oil is extracted from the pulp of the fruit (instead of having to chemically extract the liquid from the seed), it’s become a popular addition to kitchens and bathrooms alike.
The green fruit is rich in vitamins, protein, copper, fiber and monounsaturated fats that does the body good. From lowering cholesterol to strengthening eye health to improving digestion, avocados are an amazing superfood. But did you know that there are also beauty benefits to reap from avocados?
Avocado and olive oil hair mask: Mash half an avocado with half a cup of olive oil and mix until emulsified. Apply to dry hair, working it in thoroughly. Let sit for 20 to 30 minutes before washing and conditioning.
Leave-in conditioner: Avocado oil for hair? Turns out, it makes a nourishing leave-in conditioner. Just apply a nickel-sized amount while hair is still damp and distribute evenly before styling.
Face mask: To enjoy this moisturizing mask, cut a ripe avocado into cubes. Add a small amount of avocado oil and mash into a paste. Apply onto clean skin and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash it away with your favorite cleanser.
Moisturize skin. The natural oils in an avocado can penetrate deep into the skin, helping to soften and hydrate dry and flaky patches. Simply spread it across your body, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, shower or bathe in lukewarm water and pat dry.
Treat sunburns. It’s all fun and games at the beach until you wake up the next morning with a nasty sunburn. Ease the pain and prevent chafing by applying avocados directly to the spot.
As you can see avocados may make a great guacamole but they also have so many other benefits.!
