Avocado Dressing with Kefir

Here’s a healthy alternative: a dressing made with kefir, which provides the creamy base that’s reminiscent of ranch, and other nutritious ingredients like garlic, lemon, and olive oil. Add in avocado, and it’s kind of everything you could possibly need in a dressing, whether you’re coating a kale salad or dipping your almond-crusted, baked chicken tenders.


  • 1/3 avocado
  • 1/2 cup kefir
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


  1. In a medium sized bowl, mash avocado.
  2. Add kefir, olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Refrigerate until served.
